Chapter 36

3 Ways To Add Some
"OOMPH!"
To Your Bullets

If you would like to immediately increase the response of your copy in a quick and easy way, then just get real good at writing bullets.

Every top copywriter I know spends a LOT of time writing bullets.

Not only is copywriting much easier when you start with bullets (try it and see for yourself)... but extremely expensive products have been sold on the power of a single, irresistible bullet point buried in the middle of a long sales letter.

Question is... how do you write powerful, irresistible bullets like that?

          What's the "secret"?

Well, one way is to simply add an additional "layer" of persuasion to them.

In other words, instead of writing a "plain vanilla" statement or claim, tack on some information that gives those bullets more depth and "ooomph!"

And you can do that simply by adding what I call the "3 C's Of Hot Bullets" -- Claim, Credibility and Curiosity -- to them.

          Here's how they work:

1.  Adding A Claim

This one is simple.  Just take your first claim and add another benefit that expands on and gives more "dimension" to it:
  • How six and seven figure network marketers close prospects on the phone without doing any "selling."  (In fact, with Mark's methods, the LESS you sell, the MORE people you sponsor!)
          See how that works?

The first claim is closing prospects without selling.  The second claim is "the less you sell, the more you sponsor."  Another (more intriguing) claim that expands on the original.

2.  Adding Credibility

Whenever you add crediblity (or "proof") to a claim, you exponentially increase its believability.

And since nobody buys without belief, adding credbility to your bullets will often increase your overall response, too.

          Here's an example:
  • How to use simple cartoons to explode your sales… no matter what you sell or who you sell to.  (For example, you'd be amazed at how easily a picture of a phone operator with her headset on can jack up your response!)
In this case, all I did is add a short demonstration of the claim by giving away part of the secret.

By the way, demonstration is just one way to do this.  You can use anything that makes the claim more believable:
  • A scientifically proven way (recently discovered by neurologists) to transform your frustration with writing ads into boundless creative energy.
Just adding words like "scientifically proven" and "neurologists" gives the claim more "depth" and believability.

3.  Adding Curiosity

This is where you basically pour on the "tease" in a dramatic way.

          Here's an example:
  • Why personalizing your emails with your prospect's name can HURT your response.  (And the faster and easier thing you can do instead.)
In this case, I simply took a claim that goes against what many people already believe (using your prospect's name in an email increasing response), and added some "tease" to it.

          Here are some more examples:
  • How to "speed hit" your attacker with a flurry of punches every half second... even if you're clumsy, slow and have never thrown a punch in your life! (This is the real secret of Bruce Lee's legendary "fists of fury"... that you'll never see in his movies.
  • The one kind of leash that is more dangerous to you... than it is to your dog! (Some dog owners have literally lost entire body parts using this leash.)
  • The little-known reason why capturing emails could be cutting your profits in half.  (Capturing your customers' email addresses is a "must" online... or is it?  Find out why it is almost certainly eating your profits on page 138.)
          Bottom line?

Using these "3 C's" in your bullets is a quick and easy way to add power and "oomph!" to your ads.

They don't take much effort, and can many times make a big impact on your response.

I hope you enjoyed them and (even more important) USE them to make more moolah
